Sensor System Lab
Overview
The Sensor System Lab is a core teaching facility within the School of Electronics Engineering (SENSE) at VIT Vellore Campus. It provides students with strong practical foundations in sensor technologies and their characteristics. The lab supports a wide range of experiments for understanding sensor characteristics including strain gauges for linear and shear strain measurement; thermocouples, RTDs & thermistors for temperature measurement; LVDT & LDR for displacement measurement as well as various capacitive and piezoelectric transducers for studying both static and dynamic response analysis. Through systematic lab-based experiments and project-oriented learning, the facility promotes hands-on experience. It equips students with essential competencies for designing, characterizing, and applying sensors in real-world electronics and instrumentation applications
