Eligibility

Nationality

  • The applicant should be either a Resident Indian National or a Non-Resident Indian National.

Age Limit

  • Applicants born on or after 01.07.2005 are eligible to apply for UG Science & Humanities programme for the academic year 2025.

  • Applicants must present the Age proof (Birth certificate / Passport copy) as proof of their age during counselling / admission. Failure to do so will result in disqualification from the admission process.

Qualifying Examination

  • The final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognized Central/ State Board, such as the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi; Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations or any other Board accepted by VIT as equivalent to 10+2 examination.

  • Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.

  • General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.

  • High School Certificate Examination at the Advanced (A) level of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.

  • Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with minimum of 5 subjects as recognized by central board.

  • Applicants who have completed the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination outside India should produce an equivalence certificate to the effect that the examination they have passed is equivalent to the Class 12 Examination with grade/CGPA converted to percentage.

  • Candidates who have appeared for multiple board examinations in the same academic year are not eligible.

Selection Criteria

  • Admission will be based on the performance in the qualifying examination (10+2).

  • Seat allotment is based on the candidate's preferences, rank, and seat availability.

  • During online counselling, candidates can prioritize their choices.

  • Information regarding seat allotment, instructions for admission fee payment, and downloading the allotment letter will be communicated to candidates through the counselling portal.

  • Provisional admission is subject to cancellation at any point of time if the candidate fails to fulfil the eligibility requirements.

  • The fact that a candidate has been qualified and called for the counselling does not guarantee admission to him / her. This depends upon the candidates rank and the availability of seats.

A pass in any stream with minimum overall aggregate of 50% in the qualifying examination.

A pass in Diploma (10+3) in any stream with minimum overall aggregate of 50% in the qualifying examination .

In case of applicants belonging to SC/ST community or applicants hailing  from Jammu and Kashmir/ Ladakh and the North Eastern States of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura, 10% relaxation is provided. Certificate to prove community / nativity should be produced at the time of councelling, failing which they will not be consider for admission.

How To Apply?

Steps to be followed for online application

Step 1

Register yourself by clicking on "New applicant."

Step 2

Verify your registered email address by using the OTP received through registered mobile number from VIT.

Step 3

Once OTP is validated, a password will be sent to your registered email address. Keep this email ID and password secure until the admission process is complete.

Step 4

Fill out the application form with required information.

Step 5

Pay the non-refundable application fee of Rs.600 using Net banking, Debit card, Credit card, or Paytm.

Step 6

Upload Age proof certificate, 12th Hall Ticket and 12th Mark sheet.

  • Applicants are required to upload the below mentioned documents on the application portal (based on availability within the time frame)

  • Copy of XII Mark statement (for all attempts)*

Admission Procedure

  • There is NO ENTRANCE EXAMINATION
  • Admission is through merit and is based on mentioned qualifying examination.
  • A merit(rank) list is prepared on the basis of 10+2 marks
  • Shortlisted applicants will be called for virtual counselling

Results

  • A rank list will be prepared on the basis of 10+2 marks.
  • The results of shortlisted candidates will be announced through website.
  • Shortlisted candidates will then be invited for online counselling

The Candidates who have completed their Higher Secondary Education in Vellore, Ranipet, Tirupattur, Tiruvannamalai districts are eligible for scholarship of Rs. 10000/- under GVSD Programme.

Note:

  • All copies of documents will be archived and will not be returned for any reason.

  • The candidate should submit the qualifying mark statement from the board studied as mentioned in the application form for verification of genuineness at the time of admission. In case of submission of any fraudulent, incompetent certificate by the applicant will lead to legal action and the admission accorded will be duly cancelled and no refund will be initiated.
  • The qualifying examination mark statement submitted will be verified with the respective board.

Refund of Fees

The policy announced by AICTE / UGC, will be adopted, as and when announced.

Withdrawal Procedure

  • Candidates can request withdrawal through online .

  • The necessary form for withdrawal/clearances must be obtained to facilitate the withdrawal process.

  • The withdrawal application date is considered as the date of submitting the clearance form.

  • Refund will be processed through account transfer to the bank account mentioned in the withdrawal request. Accurate bank account details must be provided.
