Eligibility

Nationality

  • The applicant should be a Resident Indian National.

  • Foreign/OCI/PIO/NRI Candidates are requested to apply through the designated category application - https://vit.ac.in/admissions/international/overview and are restricted to apply under the General category.

Age Limit

  • Applicants born on or after 01.07.2006 are eligible to apply for UG Science & Humanities programme for the academic year 2026-2027.

  • Applicants must present the Age proof (Birth certificate / Passport copy) as proof of their age during counselling / admission. Failure to do so will result in disqualification from the admission process.

Qualifying Examination

  • The final examination of the 10+2 / HSC system, conducted by any recognized Central/ State Board, such as the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi; Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations or any other Board accepted by VIT as equivalent to 10+2 / HSC examination.

  • Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.

  • General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge) at the Advanced (A) level.

  • High School Certificate Examination at the Advanced (A) level of the Cambridge University/Pearson Edexcel regulated by UK.

  • High School Certificate Examination of the International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.

  • Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with minimum of 5 subjects as recognized by central board.

  • Applicants who have studied through regular, full-time and formal education with English as one of the subjects are eligible to apply.

  • Candidates who have appeared for multiple board examinations in the same academic year are not eligible.

For First 2 years (At VIT BS)

A pass with minimum overall aggregate of 80% in 10th and 12th grade with Mathematics as one of the subjects in the qualifying examination.

For Next 2 years (At Binghamton University SOM).

  • Cumulative GPA of at least 8/10 at VIT.
  • Proof of English Proficiency as per International Standards.
  • Submission of official transcripts and admission application.

In case of applicants belonging to SC/ST community or applicants hailing  from Jammu and Kashmir/ Ladakh and the North Eastern States of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura, 10% relaxation is provided. Certificate to prove community / nativity should be produced at the time of councelling, failing which they will not be considered for admission.

Selection Criteria

  • Admission will be based on the performance in the qualifying examination (10+2 / HSC).

  • Seat allotment is based on the candidate's rank, preferences and seat availability.

  • During online counselling, candidates can prioritize their choices.

  • Information regarding seat allotment, instructions for admission fee payment, and downloading the allotment letter will be communicated to candidates through the counselling portal.

  • Candidates can download the provisional admission letter after full fee payment.

  • Provisional admission is subject to cancellation at any point of time if the candidate fails to fulfill the eligibility requirements.

  • The fact that a candidate has been qualified and called for the counselling does not guarantee admission to him / her. This depends upon the candidates rank and the availability of seats.

How To Apply?

Steps to be followed for online application

Step 1

Register yourself by clicking on "Sign Up" (New applicant)

Step 2

Verify your registered email address by using the OTP received from VIT.

Step 3

Once OTP is validated, a password will be sent to your registered email address. Keep this email ID and password secure until the admission process is complete.

Step 4

Fill out the online application form with required information. The list of Boards along with respective code is listed out in the Prospectus. The Board code of study in the qualifying examination should be mentioned accurately. In case of any discrepancy in the board filling on the application form and submission of relevant document at the time of admission will lead to cancellation of admission.

Step 5

Pay the non-refundable application fee of Rs.600 using Net banking, Debit card and Credit card.

Step 6

Upload Age proof certificate, 12th Hall Ticket and 12th Mark sheet.

Admission Procedure

  • Admission is through merit and is based on mentioned qualifying examination
  • A rank list will be prepared on the basis of 10+2 / HSC marks
  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited for online counselling
  • The fact that a candidate has been qualified and called for the counselling does not guarantee admission to him / her. This depends upon the candidates rank and the availability of seats.

Results

  • A rank list will be prepared on the basis of 10+2 / HSC marks.
  • The results of shortlisted candidates will be announced through website.
  • Shortlisted candidates will then be invited for online counselling

Note:

  • All Photo copies of documents will be archived and will not be returned for any reason.

  • The candidate should submit the qualifying mark statement from the board studied as mentioned on the application form for verification of genuineness at the time of admission. In case of submission of any fraudulent, incompetent certificate by the applicant will lead to legal action and the admission accorded will be duly cancelled and no refund will be initiated.
  • The qualifying examination mark statement submitted by the candidate will be verified from the respective board.

Refund of Fees

The policy announced by AICTE / UGC, will be adopted, as and when announced.

Withdrawal Procedure

  • Candidate should give request for withdrawal only through online.

  • Exit formalities to be completed.

  • Date of Application for withdrawal is the date of submitting clearance form (NO DUES FORM) through online.
