Funded Projects And Consultancy
The school is the proud recipient of two FIST projects of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The first project was granted for the development of the Automotive Research Centre in the year 2003 with an outlay of Rs. 0.57 cr. The second project was granted for the establishment of the Centre for Advanced Manufacturing Research in 2011 with a total outlay of Rs. 2.57 cr. The school takes up funded research projects in the broad areas of Additive Manufacturing, Alternative Fuels, Bio-Corrosion, Composite Materials, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Technology, Hydrogen Storage, IC Engine, MEMS, Metal Joining, Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) and Surface Engineering.
The school has received a total of 57 research projects with a total outlay of 15.64 crores in the last 5 years from 2018. The funding is being provided by various agencies such as DST – SERB, DST-CRG, AR&DB, ISRO, DAE–BRNS, DRDO-NRB, GTRE, and DST-Nano-Mission scheme etc.. The school has also attracted international funding from Royal Academy of Engineering, Swedish Council for higher education, DST-NAWA, DST-IC IMPACT Indo- Canada, Indo-Hungarian Joint Research Scheme, DST – UKIERI etc. in the last 5 years.
