Good Health & Well Being
The health and well-being of employees and students can be greatly improved by incorporating Sustainable Development Goal into educational institutions. VIT Promotes Health Education, Research & Innovation, Wellness Initiatives, Community Engagement, Collaboration with health organizations, Healthcare Access and Healthy Environments.
Clean Water And Sanitation
Clean water and sanitation are fundamental for human health, economic growth, and environmental sustainability. Vellore Institute of Technology provides accessibility to safe water and sanitation as it is a fundamental human right that is necessary for illness prevention, hygiene improvement, and overall well-being. Clean water avoids water-borne infections, boosts economic output, and protects the environment. More than 2 billion people endure water scarcity, and over 3.6 billion do not have access to safe sanitation. Pollution and climate change worsen these difficulties. The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 6 aims to provide universal access to clean water and sanitation by 2030 and we adhere and follow the best practices in our campus to achieve the same.

CLIMATE ACTION
Vellore Institute of Technology has set specific climate targets on carbon neutrality. The institute focuses on implementing renewable energy and energy-efficient methods throughout campus operations. The campus community is engaged with educational, research, and student-led activities. We promote sustainable transportation, waste reduction on campus, climate policies and work with local and international partners. The progress is tracked and published in a transparent manner to increase responsibility and drive further action. VIT, by implementing these techniques, reduce the environmental effect, lead climate action, and contribute to the larger global effort to mitigate climate change.
